Affiliates are people who tend to own websites that are related to your business. Then, usually working through a third party they promote you, your products/services and your website, and they send you visitors.

So for example, an affiliate sends a visitor to your site and buys £120 worth of good, from this you generate £80 worth of profit - you might offer your affiliates 5% of sales as a 'commission' (or £6) - take this from your profits leaves you £74 of profits. Fantastic!

You might want to pay your affiliates for each visitor that buys something, signs up for a newsletter or just pay them on unique visitors (this can often be cheaper than a Pay Per Click campaign!). There, we hope that's clear!
