Web directories are online catalogues containing sites that are ranked in categories (the most famous of which is DMOZ - the hardest directory to be listed in).

You can place a link to your site in the corresponding category. Some directories also require a backlink, but since we try to disturb our clients as little as possible with such tiny details, we often place the links in directories that have a free regular link option or a free reciprocal link option.

We find however that these directories provide great search engine rankings, which is all we need from them.
